"I have no regrets marrying an old woman, because all young girls do is beg for Airtime and will not call you but beep" says man who married a 68yr old Swedish woman

28-year-old Guvnor Ace (born Ronald Samawere) who had earlier been accused of 'dating an ancestor' got married to 68-year-old Lisa Johnson on August 20 in a civil ceremony held at the Uganda Registration Service Bureau in Kampala before friends and family members. Speaking to Uganda’s WBS TV on why he married his wife, the Ugandan dance-hall artiste said that young girls are a financial liability and some are not genuine.
"I have no regrets, because these young girls will ask for airtime and on sending it, they will not even call you, all they do is to beep. All they do is beg!" he said
On how he met his wife, Lisa Johnson he revealed,
"I shared my Gutujja video in 2014 on my wall and this was Lisa’s comment, 'I like the way he sings though I don’t know what he’s singing about.' It was then that I sent her a Facebook request."
Debunking claims that he married his wife because of money, he said,
"We’ve been chatting for close to eleven months, so I don’t get it when people say that I’m in it for money. They call her a pensioner but as far as I’m concerned, she is still working and earning."

On what he love about his new wife, he said
"Last December, she opted to come to Uganda to celebrate Christmas with me and since then, we’ve been inseparable. Lisa likes me the way I am and she likes my music too, otherwise someone else would want you to remove your dreads and give up on music just to be with them."

Rivers probe: Go and defend yourself, Wike tells Amaechi

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has reacted to Amaechi's decision not to appear before a panel of Inquiry. The Governor called on Amaechi, to go and defend himself before the judicial commission of inquiry sitting in the state. Gov. Wike said that it was wrong for the former governor to describe the commission as illegal even when the court had ruled that the panel was in order.

The governor, who spoke through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, said he would not take issues with the former governor over the setting up of the judicial commission of inquiry.
It is necessary for Amaechi to defend himself on certain issues concerning how the state was managed during his tenure.

The Incumbent Governor explained that Ameachi was put to shame when the court pronounced that nothing was wrong with the setting up of a judicial commission of inquiry to probe the immediate past administration.

He said, "It is laughable that Amaechi would call a panel that has already been declared lawful by a court of law illegal. This means that as of when he questioned its proprietary in court, he thought the court would declare it illegal but was shamed." Going further, he said, "Media trial will not vindicate him as the sentiment he is trying to whip up has failed."

"The victim, a minor female, was in the company of two friends, also minors, at Mamas Restaurant in Greenside,Johannesburg, where. they attended an arranged event," the statement reads. One of whom introduced himself to the victim as 'Mbuso Mandela'. After a conversation of about five minutes, the three males asked the three females to go with them to another place, but they declined.

As the males persisted to convince the girls to go with them, the victim called the host, who came and told the males that the three girls will not go with them. After the girls moved inside the premises, the boys later joined them at their table. During a conversation, the accused exchanged cellphone numbers with the victim. The accused then allegedly pulled the victim further behind the wall, where he threw her down and got on top of her, where he penetrated her vagina with his penis and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent."
The girls were picked by the victim's mother who dropped them off at her father's house. According to the police, it was there that she told her two friends of what happened back at the restaurant.

APC will henceforth be fully involved in the subsequent appointments - Oyegun

On Thursday, August 27, Pres.Buhari drew the anger of many across the country when the list of his latest appointment was released. The list which contained six new key appointees was criticized as being lopsided. Responding to the widespread outrage and criticisms over the appointment, APC national chairman Chief John Oyegun in an interview with Thisday on Saturday in Abuja said,
"It is too early and superficial to say the appointments were lopsided; it is too early. We are just a little over two months into the government. The appointments made so far are personal staff members of the president. And it is his prerogative to make the appointments."
The chairman added, "Even though we were marginally involved in those appointments, the party will henceforth be fully involved in the subsequent appointments; that is where the supremacy of the party will come to bear. Nigerians should exercise a little patience. There will be board appointments, ministerial positions and a lot of other positions"

I'm through with you, Uzodimma tells ex-wife...says I'm set to marry again

Imo West Senator, Hope Uzodimma, has stated that he won't reconcile with his former wife, Augusta, because their marriage has been legally dissolved by the Court and the Catholic Church about 17 years ago. He said a Lagos High Court Ikeja presided over by Justice Bayo Manuwa and the Catholic Canon Tribunal of Orlu Diocese Catholic Church in Imo State where the marriage was initially consummated have dissolved the marriage after irreconcilable issues in 1998.

Uzodimma in a statement in Abuja said the dissolution by the Catholic Church has been granted by the Catholic Papal’s Dispensation. The Senator was reacting to the purported alarm raised by Augusta in which she called on the Catholic Church and all concerned not to recognize the his planned second marriage. He wondered why the former wife would suddenly wake up from her slumber after 17 years to raise unnecessary alarm.

According to him, the dissolution of the marriage having broken down irretrievably, followed all due processes (legal and Canon laws) "as we have a judgement Absolute from the High Court and also a judgement Absolute from the Catholic Tribunal".

He said because of the love for his children, he would not go into the details of what led to the dissolution and that as a responsible man, “I have not abandoned Augusta whom I have continued to meet her needs, being the mother of my children”. Uzodimma accused his political detractors who having failed at all fronts to drag his name to the mud, have now resorted to conscript Augusta to champion their cause.” I see the handiwork of my political detractors in this”, he added.

The Senator called for calm and urged his friends and teeming supporters to disregard the action of Augusta as she is manipulated by political detractors.

Presidency replies former Ministers under GEJ's administration, says anti-corruption fight is non negotiable

The presidency has released a statement replying former Ministers who worked in Jonathan's administration. In a statement released this evening, the former ministers had asked the Buhari led govt to be sincere in its fight against corruption and not use it as a tool for political witch hunting. In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the presidency said the war against corruption is not a personal one nor a means of political witch hunting and that the fight is not negotiable and does not have friend nor foe.

The statement in part reads
In this regard that there is no witch hunt or malice against anyone in the pursuit of the county’s stolen assets still stand . This war against corruption knows no friend nor foe. There is no intention to deny anyone of their good name where they are entitled to it and that President Buhari reserves the highest regards for the country’s former leaders including Dr Jonathan Goodluck who he continues to praise to the high heavens for the way and manner in which he accepted defeat in the last election. That singular action remains a feat that has earned the former president and Nigeria as country befitting commendations all over the world, the latest coming from Mr Ban Ki-Moon, the Secretary-General of the United Nations who visited a week ago. For the purpose of emphasis, the issue of fighting corruption by President Buhari is non negotiable. It is sine qua non to the overall reconstruction of the economy and social systems which suffered destruction and severe denigration under the last administration. President Buhari will not be deterred or blackmailed into retreat and surrender. No one in the PDP can accuse President Buhari of undermining the economy when all they handed over to him is at best, was a tottering economy hobbled by corruption and the absence of due process. Things have become worsened by the continuing fall of oil prices, which is expected to fall even further with the imminent full return of Iran to the market. All he has been doing while around is to put things together, organizing to defeat Boko Haram, paying outstanding salaries, cleaning up the mess left behind, improving security and restoring our relationships with neighbors and the world. So what are former ministers afraid of in these things? Have they become a new trade union? Let this collection of ex-VIPs allow the President the peace he needs to handle the reconstruction of the economy and the nation in a manner that most serves Nigeria’s best interests. President Buhari does not need these types of distraction presented by the so-called association of former ministers.”

Boko Haram kills 56 in remote part of Borno State

Dasuki’s trial begins Tuesday

The Federal Government will on Tuesday arraign former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), before a Federal High Court in Abuja for allegedly being in possession of firearms without license.

The Department of State Security Service, DSS, had, in a statement by one of its officials, Tony Opuiyo, on August 24, 2015, said that it had charged Dasuki with the alleged offence.
Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, had on Friday assigned the case to Justice Adeniyi Ademola, who is the court’s vacation judge.

The DSS said it had charged Dasuki with possession of firearms without licence, an offence punishable under section 27(I)(a)(I) of the Firearms Act Cap F28 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, based on evidence so far obtained.

The Federal Ministry of Justice had since taken over the case.

It was learnt that the trial which ought to have started last week was postponed due to the directive of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmmud Mohammed, to various heads of court not to sit throughout the week to enable lawyers and interested judges to participate in the just-concluded one week-long Annual Bar Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association.

The DSS had searched Dssuki's home and claimed that it searched it “based on credible intelligence linking the immediate past NSA with alleged plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian state.”
The statement partly read:
“You may recall that on July 16, 2015, the Department of State Services carried out search operations on properties belonging to the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Mohammed Sambo Dasuki (retd.), in Abuja and Sokoto.
“This action was necessitated by credible intelligence, which linked him to acts capable of undermining national security. The search operations led to the recovery of large cache of arms and ammunition among other things and for which further investigation was conducted.
“Consequently, on Monday, August 24, 2015, he was charged to court based on evidence so far obtained, but which relates to possession of firearms without licence punishable under section 27(i)(a)(i) of the Firearms Act Cap F28 LFN 2004.”
The secret service said Dasuki’s arraignment was in line with democratic practice and “our avowed commitment to the rule of law, in which nobody is deemed to be above the law, no matter how highly placed in the society.”
